Abstract

The economic development of a country has been widely debated in the world, because the adequate well-being of the people depends on it; For this, experts in the area have argued that the best way to guarantee it is by promoting policies (among others) that allow adequate management of courses, investment in technology, and specialization; as Norway has done, a country that has demonstrated stable and strong economic growth over the years. Therefore, the main objective of this case analysis is to analyze the competitiveness mechanisms through a bibliographic review that deals with the determining factors that allowed the country of Norway to generate a welfare state in the period 2000-2020. The main results show that Norway's main sources of wealth, and the sustained growth of its economy, are basically due to the adequate management of its natural resources, investment in technology to make such exploitation cleaner and more efficient, as well as of the promotion of policies that guarantee the development of the workforce, and the well-being and happiness of its citizens.
