El arte público en la ciudad de Pasaje visto desde la pintura

Abstract

The following project seeks to demonstrate the importance of the collective memory of the city through painting using as a reference to a certain sector of the cantón, with the presentation of strategies learned during academic training in order to counteract the lack of interest in culture and history, its correct artistic use in which different proposals such as contests, volunteering and others are made. To investigate, produce and recover the history with the general culture, allowing children, young people and adults to have a greater interest in the arts and mainly in the history of their territory, and the authorities of course support with greater emphasis the proposals that have to do with the cultural identity of the city, it is extremely important the formative cultural uses in these activities, being the artists who form their identity projects and recovery of the collective memory. The research is based on theoretical foundations in order to be able to know precisely the different circumstances that give rise to the facts. The sector of the irrigation canal has a very extensive history at the local level, an importance in the irrigation system of the banana plantations of the canton in the same way with the help of stories and anecdotes makes this place something historical but that little by little has been lost by the disinterest of history and culture, which identifies each one of us passajeños. Different artists were used as a reference in order to produce a mural that represents the events that society is currently going through, in this part we took as a reference the muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros and the artist Oswaldo Guayasamín along with the stories told by the inhabitants of the canton contributing ideas to represent yesterday and today of the city, and make the work a source of pride for the Pasajeña society. The mural in addition to improving the built environment of a city plays a very important social role that through its location, theme, size and quality of execution represents a source of pride for the community in this case the mural was used to give an added value in order to give the same element another approach to the concepts. The purpose of this proposal is to disseminate the work through social networks, and thus through this way to reach the largest possible audience and thus through the comments generated find future solutions and actions to preserve the cultural identity in the Pasajeña community. The work itself had a positive reception in terms of opinions, that is why when receiving these comments is considerable not to make any changes to what is represented, rather seek ways to disseminate this type of content to more people even knowing that it is inevitable to deal with people who care about identity, however this project was only the beginning of a great change for the murals represented in the city.
