Abstract

Environmental audits in the field of road construction make it possible to control the impact generated on the environment in which it is executed, controlling so that it is minimal for both nature and society that is involved in the change of the road axis. For this reason, the importance of complying with regulations and monitoring the project in execution is emphasized to know how they are working and determine if their operations are in accordance with environmental guidelines and do not cause any damage to the environment. The present work focuses on carrying out an environmental audit of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Santa Rosa-Puerto Jelí road, Santa Rosa canton, province of El Oro, guided by the environmental management plan that is being executed, since the great works of engineering, such as bridges, metal structures, road reconstruction, tunnels, etc., have a great impact on the balance of the environment as they modify the natural course of land drainage, pollute the soil, air, and even cause the displacement of people , but it is undeniable that this always seeks the development and improvement of the quality of life. Through a matrix made where compliance with the environmental management plan presented by the contractor and the articles corresponding to this work that are found in the current regulations are marked.
