Análisis de la jerarquía de las vías del distribuidor de tráfico Bella India

Abstract

The development of the present study focuses mainly on evaluating the performance of the Bella India Traffic Distributor, a complementary work of the Corralitos – Tíllales, Y, Highway Construction Project, whose purpose was to decongest the vehicular traffic that circulated daily between the provinces of Guayas and El Oro. One of the main objectives of traffic analysis is to determine the existing vehicular traffic in a study section, generally working with two main magnitudes, volume, and speed. In this scenario, the objective of this work was to determine the daily traffic volume between schedules, during seven days of the week in the traffic distributor of Bella India, using a vehicle gauging; to obtain the most representative traffic volumes in the schedules established for the peak hours, this to verify if the subordination of the roads was correctly considered in its design. The vehicle gauging was done by manual counting of vehicles on December 29, 30, 31, 2021, and January 1, 2, 3, and 4, 2022, indicating that December is a holiday month and therefore one of the busiest months of the year, where the circulation and vehicle traffic is much higher. With the first gauging carried out, it was possible to determine the peak hours from 12h00 to 13h00 and 16h00 to 17h00 for the remaining six days of gauging.
