Abstract

The document presented below shows the process of structural calculation of the superstructure of an overpass located in the city of Huaquillas, province of El Oro at the height of the school Remigio Geo Gómez Guerrero, at the intersection of Avenida la República and Asaad Bucaram. This overpass is presented as a solution to the problems of the site, in which vehicular flow and pedestrian congestion generate danger to students who attend the aforementioned school. The implementation of the overpass will avoid vehicular conflicts and guarantee the physical integrity of the school students and pedestrians in general. The structural calculation was carried out from a pre-design, evaluating the physical conditions of the site, and obtaining the corresponding loads acting on the superstructure, with which the calculation procedure was carried out using the current regulations, both national standards of INEN-NTE, NEVI, which are used to define the dimensions of the overpass, and international standards such as the PCI Handbook Precast and Prestressed Concrete 7th Edition 1 and Requirements of the Regulation for Structural Concrete ACI 318S-19, 2 that govern the behavior of prestressed concrete and reinforced concrete. Subsequently, the results of the calculations will be shown, represented in drawings that are detailed in the annexes at the end of the document.
