Investigación sobre modelos de gestión comunitaria del recurso agua aplicable a las necesidades de la parroquia Milton Reyes, cantón Huaquillas

Abstract

The Milton Reyes community is an urban area located in the city of Huaquillas, the environmental problem that can be determined in this area, in relation to water resources, was the lack of a sewage service that supplies this population. In relation to the potable water service, no shortcomings were found, due to the great coverage that, according to the Development and Territorial Planning Plan of the city, it covers 95% of the Huallaquillense population. In the study area, a large part of the inhabitants have had to find a way to deposit their wastewater to carry out their daily activities without the discomfort of the same, finding alternatives such as direct discharge to water canals, septic tanks, latrines, among others. Due to this and the need of the population to cover their basic needs, it causes discomfort and affects the surroundings and the social environment. Through the methodology used to obtain data, information and generate results, observation, on-site visit and semi-structured interview were used, as a result, the population of the Milton Reyes urban area and the other surrounding places became dissatisfied, adding to the lack of this basic service, which allowed to set out as a proposal, a model of community management, these aim to promote mutual agreements between the actors of the problem, with the objective of creating regulations and compliance with agreements to solve a social and/or environmental problem
