La importancia de la legalidad del aborto en el Ecuador, su representación a través de la pintura

Abstract

The present research work entitled ''the importance of the legality of abortion in Ecuador, its representation through painting'' highlights one of the problems that has most attacked the integrity of many women both globally and locally, a conflict for many people, but an objective to be achieved for many others, the importance of the legality of abortion, Taking this practice as a problem that statistically, and thanks to research conducted by the World Health Organization and other entities, has shown that it has generated thousands of deaths over the years, and that continues to happen today due to medical malpractices performed by clandestine places dedicated to the realization of this type of interventions in specific. Likewise, in the development of the work, the seriousness of the issue is analyzed, the advantages that the legality of abortion would generate for many women, the responsibility that should be taken towards the subject and the power of choice that women have been taken away from them over the years due to religious entities and by groups rooted in what should be ''morally correct'' for society. In addition, the statistics of women who choose to have an abortion and the percentage of deaths that have been generated over the years due to the malpractice of the phenomenon described above are described in detail thanks to research conducted by different health centers worldwide and by research done by different authors previously. Thus, during the research process it was possible to better understand the root of the problem regarding the illegality of abortion, as well as the fact that in Ecuador this practice is legal only for a specific group of people, leaving very isolated problems such as abortion of women due to rape, Thanks to the process of investigation of the subject in different studies of several authors, it was possible to reach the conclusion that it is one of the biggest problems today both globally and locally, that many women's organizations have risen to fight against this legal norm thanks to the psychological, physical and health problems that this problem represents for many women. On the other hand, as for the artistic production, we chose to use a pictorial painting that through the elements, the theme the color, the brushstrokes and the story behind it, captures the attention of people and makes a call to raise awareness of what this problem is generating in the physical integrity and health of many women, to leave the taboo of talking about the subject and not to see it as something to be demonized but to take the time to analyze and draw a conclusion far outside the religious or what is morally correct.
