Abstract

The present work is of an investigative nature and focuses on the position of the social worker in his community work specifically located in the sector of Bajo alto, canton El Guabo, which has a beach area as a tourist place for the population of the province of El Oro and surrounding localities, where trade, gastronomy and fishing are the main source of income. In this work, the functions that the professional performs in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic problem with respect to the affluence and organization of the commercial work and well-being of the inhabitants of the place, that is to say, how it affects and has repercussions in the community throughout this entire period, are broken down. However, the functions performed by the community social worker are of utmost importance because it allows working on community projects and working closely with the community so that they get a good organization and allows them to revive their economy, in addition to seeking help from other institutions that contribute to the growth and welfare of the place. This is how it will be evidenced by means of a rubric the fulfillment of the community social work and its research techniques, as well as how this can influence in the reactivation of the economy and in the local development of Bajo Alto located in the city of El Guabo in such a way that it is an agent of change that watches over the rights of the people and allows to evaluate the current social situation.
