Intervención sistémica familiar y terapia ocupacional en demencia tipo Alzheimer.

Abstract

Alzheimer's dementia is a degenerative pathology more common in the clinical health area, it is estimated that between 2030 to 2050 there will be an increase of people with Alzheimer's dementia, which prioritizes the planning of medical and psychological treatments. Likewise, this essay aims to develop a therapeutic plan of ten sessions with an integrative approach, where systemic family and occupational therapy is addressed for a case of Alzheimer's dementia. The methodology used is descriptive through the review of updated scientific articles published from 2017 to 2021, in addition, books and theses related to the topic were consulted. Similarly, definitions, etiology, prevalence were identified, where it was found that Alzheimer's type dementia is a degenerative pathology with notorious manifestations in memory loss due to the advancement of cognitive impairment, leading to changes in behavior, mood and difficulty in motor skills, situations that reflect effects in all areas of the person, thus, there is a need for support and family support for cognitive, motor and emotional stimulation activities, and accompaniment in the disease, to improve performance and quality of life of people with this type of dementia.
