Manual de buenas prácticas ambientales en la gestión de desechos sólidos en la planta de beneficio Romero Guzmán, cantón Portovelo

Abstract

This research work focuses on the management of common solid waste in the Romero Guzmán processing plant. These materials, although they are not one of the strongest impacts within a mining plant, they also need to be handled correctly, otherwise they pose a danger to both the environment and the personnel close to them. The beneficiation plant is located in the El Pache sector, Portovelo canton, El Oro province. The research was considered qualitative, focusing on the management of solid waste within the plant. For this, the types of research were established as: descriptive, exploratory and bibliographic; For this, the research would go on to describe the management process that it currently has, delve into the causes of inefficient management and search within scientific articles how to improve this situation. Likewise, to carry out this study, research techniques such as observation, in-situ research and interviews with the authorities and different workers on the property were introduced. In order to have a better understanding of the types of common solid waste that are produced in the beneficiation plant and to establish more precisely how much of what is produced, a monitoring was carried out for seven days, in which the weighing and Separation of the waste generated in each office of the establishment. With this, it was possible to obtain that waste such as organic waste, paper, plastic, glass or others are produced. With all this information, the creation of a manual of good environmental practices in the management of common solid waste within the processing plant was proposed, which will gather measures that can be carried out to better manage the types of waste solids found here. In addition, it was considered that the main thing to carry out these measures is the training of all the personnel of the mill, since, with a staff and experts in the subject, they will be able to increase the efficiency of the final disposal of these materials.
