Inventario de flora vascular en la parroquia Casacay, cantón Pasaje, provincia El Oro

Abstract

Vegetative areas of Ecuador have a high endemism that must be protected for their conservation, being necessary the strengthening of research on the important flora in the ecosystem, studies on the reports of the diversity of plants in natural areas are generally scarce, it has been considered Casacay Parish belonging to the Pasaje Canton, a place that stands out for its exhaustive vegetation to gather information about the floristic diversity. The present study was based on a research development both ex situ and in situ which allowed to know the plurality of vascular plants that the study area presents, in such a way bibliographic methodology was applied with a qualitative and quantitative approach aimed at establishing a forest inventory that allows to identify the most representative species of the area and, calculate the diversity and dominance through the Simpson index analyzed in five quadrants of 10 by 20 meters, under this perspective it is established to measure the state of conservation of biodiversity and flora in the site in order to preserve the area that is affected by threats posed by anthropogenic activities, therefore, the role of competent environmental entities is essential to eradicate the fragmentation of the habitat of various flora and wildlife species that must have a vision focused on meeting the objectives of sustainable development.
