Propuesta terapéutica para un paciente adulto con artritis gotosa y síndrome metabólico

Abstract

The present study is aimed at solving a clinical case in which the analysis of a therapeutic proposal for an adult patient with a diagnosis of gouty arthritis and metabolic syndrome is sought. The case presents a 54-year-old patient with a history of obesity, a smoker, an alcoholic, with established diseases such as hypertension, type II diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia, who attended a medical consultation for presenting repeated and self-limited events of arthritis of first toe of the right foot lasting three or four days with an interval of 2-3 months and laboratory tests that indicate elevated levels of uric acid in the blood. The objective of the research is to analyze an adequate therapeutic proposal for an adult patient diagnosed with gouty arthritis and metabolic syndrome, through the updated search and bibliographic review of scientific articles, allowing the resolution of the clinical case raised, with the use of a research methodology descriptive-investigative. To analyze the therapeutic proposal, it is proposed to start with the modifications in the patient's lifestyle; adding a pharmacological treatment for gouty arthritis and its established comorbidities, administering drugs that inhibit the enzyme xanthine oxidase and antihypertensive, hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering drugs, remembering that all treatment must be individualized according to each patient and following clinical medical judgment.
