Abstract

The present work is based on an investigation on the techniques of urine sample collection in women and their biosafety regulations when taking the sample, its transport and clinical analysis. The main objective of the research is to contribute to the biosafety in clinical laboratories, according to the established norms and regulations. Urinary tract infections or (UTI) are diagnosed by performing an interrogation of the patient, in order to determine whether they are a complicated or uncomplicated UTI of the urinary tract, also called cystitis which presents classic symptoms such as: dysuria, high frequency of urination and urinary urgency, as if it were a severe (UTI), also called acute pyelonephritis which presents symptoms such as chills, vomiting, nausea, high fever. UTIs occur frequently in female patients, pregnant women, obesity, diabetes mellitus, malformations of the genitourinary tract. With a correct sample, an effective diagnosis will be obtained, which will help the treating physician to focus on the correct treatment, thus improving the patient's quality of life.
