La gestión municipal en la salubridad pública del mercado central de la ciudad de Machala

Abstract

The municipal GAD of the city of Machala takes into account the unhealthiness that currently exists by keeping the market settled in the center of the city in force, it is for this reason that it has taken measures that benefit and improve the well-being of the community and of the population in general, therefore, carries out the pertinent management to clear the streets of informal work; A great source of this informal work is located in the center of Machala, for which the GAD seeks the eviction and prohibits the return of these merchants to the place. To identify the problem of the current unhealthiness in Machala, a methodology will be used in which the so-called mixed approach study is applied; This is a process in which sources of information are investigated, that is, works on related topics to collect, articulate and analyze the functionality of statistics (quantitative data), and of assertions or conclusions (qualitative data). This academic work will have a high descriptive-explanatory level where the descriptive as its word indicates it describes a reality and the explanatory not only describes or tries to approach the problem but is based on finding the cause of it. It is also a type of non-experimental research because there is no manipulation of variables, it is simply a correlation study of the same, applied to the social sciences. The technique used to gather information is the survey that is directed to the affected population, in this case the residents of the center of Machala and the informal merchants who work there; this technique helps to have an empathic perspective around the affected parties, that is, the residents and the merchants who occupy this space. Among the results or findings of the investigation is that unhealthiness is associated with the management and leadership of the mayor and the municipality and it is concluded that they are the ones who make the decisions and that is where any change that is wanted takes effect carry out, then the health is still a competence of the municipality, however due to negligence on the part of the municipality it has not been possible to make the pertinent changes. Leaving this as a consequence controversy between the inhabitants of the area and the formal and informal merchants manifesting in a conflictive way with each other, leading to an increase in the focus of infection, exposing their health and that of all. That is why this social project has been carried out to publicize the problems that have been raised, in order to reach multiple agreements and establish the safety of the Machaleños respecting the ordinances established by the Mayor, Ing. Darío Macas, the GAD of Machala jointly with the cantonal COE, guaranteeing the health and the economy of those who live and trade in this area, which is considered a source of infection due to the unhealthy conditions that have occurred over the years.
