Abstract

In the Tena canton there is no sanitary landfill management, so all the waste produced by its inhabitants is deposited in an open-air landfill where there is no type of control, thus causing great environmental impact, It is known that the generation of waste has increased in line with the population since the population figures have increased notably in recent years. For this reason, several environmental impact studies have been carried out and through which it is expected to carry out the implementation of a sanitary landfill project that will not only avoid continuing with the existing contamination, but will also generate employment for the inhabitants. of the canton considerably improving the living conditions of the population. The work presented below includes as a reference the Environmental Impact Study EIA of the Sanitary Landfill of the Canton Tena, Napo, In order to analyze the environmental impacts caused by this civil work, in this analysis the Leopold cause and effect matrix is used as an instrument with which it is possible to measure the magnitude of the impact, whether positive or negative. After the analysis, it is visualized that most of the negative impacts caused by the work are found in the construction stage, for this reason it is intended to take meritorious measures in order to mitigate the influence of these impacts on the environment.
