Análisis social y estético de la pandemia

Abstract

The present research work called "Local-global contemporary art in times of pandemic", reflect the interest of a current problem, which in turn is marking a before and after in history both in the social and in art, as is the Covid-19 pandemic; Therefore, painting will be the medium used for the dissemination and manifestation of the idea. Art is considered as a questioning tool of reality where the artist creates an artistic proposal in order to show the viewer a message, be it a social or political problem, etc. Art, throughout history, has been relevant in moments of tension and the current situation, that is why the transmission of ideas, thoughts or facts from works that take the title of "art" occurs. In times of pandemic, this discipline has gained some relevance, although it is true that no more than the scientific one, since it will not save us from the coronavirus, but from its possible retaliation at a mental or spiritual level. Painting as a means of expressing feelings, emotions, symbolically uses elements that identify critical, reflective discourse that are representing a problem of any kind. The painting as well as the images achieve a retentive effect because the images have the power to communicate and talk about events that happen in society where the artist shows his motivation and reflects what he thinks, feels and shows it in each work. For this reason, this research project has a critical-reflective approach in which painting will be the means of expression as a tool that has been used to publicize the Covid-19 problem, which has been affecting each of the countries of the world, causing crisis, corruption due to the pandemic. The purpose of the investigative work is to reach the viewer to raise awareness and generate a critique of the events that have been generated throughout the time of confinement, a justice blinded by the ambition and power of the politicians in charge. In chapters I and II, the investigative part will be evidenced, covering the topic of pandemic and art, the presentation of artists who have manifested themselves through painting with messages of awareness, reflection, criticism, etc., of foreign, national and local topics on the various topics that have been touched on throughout the investigation and as the final part of Chapter III the process of elaboration of the pictorial sample, from the creation of the idea to the presentation already completed. Finally, in Chapter IV the objective set from the beginning of the writing has been satisfactorily met, reaching several people thanks to digital media such as the social network Facebook, through a public viewing post, which has served as a means of diffusing the artistic work so that the viewer interacts with it and has the objective of communicating and expressing what the artist captured.
