Valoración de las manifestaciones culturales intangibles de la ciudad de Machala por parte de sus ciudadanos en el año 2020.

Abstract

To preserve and disseminate intangible cultural manifestations still present in the population of Machala it is necessary to determine the degree of valuation of each area of intangible cultural heritage, in this context, access was made to the different sources of cultural information, in order to classify intangible heritage with their respective fields and sub-areas of the city of Machala. The research process surveyed 382 people living in the urban and rural area of the city of Machala, tourism operators registered in the tourist activities cadastre were also interviewed, allowing valid and reliable data to be obtained, the results of the research were based on descriptive research techniques and methods with mixed focus, where quantitative and qualitative aspects themselves that were measured in percentage data are evaluated. In this way I determine that most of Machala's population has basic and empirical knowledge of intangible cultural heritage. On the other hand, there is little participation of citizens in cultural events organized themselves that are not very welcome, this could be a consequence of the scarse dissemination of intangible cultural heritage, as well as tour operators do not have tourist routes aimed at intangible demonstrations, bringing with it the lack of valuation and disinterest of the local population as well as visitors. Intangible cultural manifestations when practiced constantly are not lost over time on the contrary they are strengthened within a society, but achieving it is a work that involves the participation of society, public entities, as well as private ones, since within their capacities it is to conserve and disseminate heritage. As a solution to the problem that the city of Machala does not have an ingrained cultural identity that can defend, transmit and in this way preserve the intangible heritage it owns, the following proposal was put forward: “Development of a project to spread intangible heritage” activities such as the creation of an interpretive route encompassing intangible cultural manifestations with which the Machalen population feels mostly identified. The interpretive route will be free and run in conjunction with tour operators and the municipal GAD, the same as that which falls within the scope of food heritage; where culinary techniques will be released, the ingredients and tasting of the most representative traditional dishes of the canton, on the other hand, in the arts of the show will be held performances and performances of dance, music and theater, also in the field of traditions and oral expressions will be narrated and will make known the places where legends are given life, and more recognized local memories. Another activity within the project to disseminate intangible heritage is to hold a cultural event where Machaleños have access to information about the intangible cultural manifestations existing in their city. In this event, there will also be an opening for tourism operators to promote the tours they carry out and thus create interest in the population to know the traditions and history that Machala keeps.
