Afectaciones socioambientales en la población por explotación de canteras en el sitio Rájaro de la parroquia Progreso, cantón Pasaje. 2020

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out in the Rájaro site, where it was determined that the main problem is the importance in the integral local development that causes the environmental contamination generated by the existing mining concessions in said community. The methodological approach used in this research was the empirical-inductive one, taking the case of socio-environmental effects due to quarrying, this is a method based practically on observation to analyze what the reality of the facts is like and concrete experience prevails , the knowledge is generated fundamentally by what our senses detect, an observation guide was applied to demonstrate the reality of the place, in addition, surveys were carried out with the members of the place to identify what the real problems are and to reach clear conclusions. Over time, actions against the environment have been evidenced, which put the health and safety of its inhabitants at risk, without there being initiatives that promote awareness-raising commitments by the pro - improvement committee, inhabitants and competent authorities, that warn of the damage or consequences generated by poor quarrying practices, the same that cause deterioration in the environmental health of the sector. Nature has been destroyed by human beings, when carrying out this type of activities, there is no sanction law for owners of quarries, who fail to comply with the established rules. In the site live residents who reveal that they have filed complaints, since they have been affected by the exploitation of quarries while another part of the population affirms that it does not affect them at all because most of the time they receive royalties from the owners of the same concessions and that is why they remain silent in the face of any discomfort they have within the place and do not make any type of complaint. Based on the results obtained from the surveys and the observation guide, it was possible to verify that there is a lack of awareness on the part of the population about environmental health, therefore the proposal is oriented towards the application of a Pro-awareness Plan defense of the environmental health of the Rájaro site, year 2020 which is expected to have all the support and commitment of the community and of each one of the professionals who are willing to collaborate for a common good, that is why a campaign has been created of prevention on risks and environmental effects due to poor quarrying practices, in addition it was possible to show that there is a low level of community organization, in light of the above, it is expected that all residents of the site will participate to attend the workshops that will be implemented in the site, so that they attend workshops that will be carried out on pollution and environmental risks, leadership training, or and organizational development and thus empower themselves in each of the issues to be discussed so that they have a better knowledge of these very important issues.
