La transición hacia la nueva forma de citar y referenciar publicaciones: análisis comparativo entre normas apa 6ta y 7ma edición.

Abstract

Currently there are organizations dedicated to developing standards that serve as a guide to maintain orderly in the production of texts, one of the most recognized is the American Psychological Association (APA). The application of APA standards has been a requirement adopted by educational and scientific institutions, where writings are produced as a result of carrying out different research processes. Furthermore, applying APA standards when citing has become a good practice and an ethical act that demonstrates recognition between authors when someone uses another author's information. In 2019, the 7th edition of the APA standard had been issued, and here the problem was identified of how changes in the APA 7th Edition Standard influence the way of citing and listing the bibliography regarding the 6th Edition; In a context where there are scientific articles that do not comply with the regulations and are still published in known repositories, teachers do not teach their students to apply the regulations, they do not know the requirements and misinterpret how to apply them. The objective was to determine the most relevant changes made in the way of citing the APA Standard 7th Edition with respect to the Standard 6th Edition by analyzing the new guidelines. The research methodology is descriptive and uses documentary review to gather information from scientific articles and university repositories. Seven changes were identified that promote better construction of the body of the document.
