Elaboración de un plan de contingencias para contrarrestar los peligros de inundaciones en la parroquia Puerto Bolívar

Abstract

The risk of flooding in the Machala canton is high, the Puerto Bolívar parish has been taken to carry out this investigation due to its vulnerability to this phenomenon, the threat due to its position and meters above sea level has caused this area to suffer by floods, usually in the months of December to April, where the strongest rains occur. The Contingency Plan are the procedures that, based on the study of risks.To characterize and estimate the risk of flooding in the study sector, the Risk Assessment tool was used to classify socio-environmental threats by three different risks, low, medium and high, with the low risks being those that do not pose a great threat and the high risks represent the risks that can cause serious damage in the short term. With this method, the vulnerability of the parish to natural disasters that may occur at any time was determined. According to the research carried out, the results that were obtained were alarming, having as a high risk the majority of the assigned parameters, and according to the average obtained in the risk equation, it was obtained that the parish has a high risk of suffering in As for the floods. And so, that through an Action Plan activities were established that will prevent, mitigate and counteract the possible effects that the winter season has as a consequence that affects all the people who live in Puerto Bolívar.
