Evaluación de las medidas de seguridad informática en instituciones superiores del Ecuador.

Abstract

Nowadays, computer systems are essential to strengthen and solve the traditional functions of public and private institutions; In relation to education, universities have virtual classrooms, institutional mail, learning environment, among other platforms when managing their academic activities. In parallel to the benefits of communication and information technology (ICT) there are risks, attacks or connotations that endanger the physical / logical integrity of the documentation; being the personal human talent as students the precursors and main managers of the computer systems the weakest link in the holistic chain of digital security. The objective of this project is to evaluate security measures in the main universities of the country through a comparative analysis to assess the quality of data security; It should be noted that it is a superficial assignment in a general context. As an instrument, the Likert scale, documented research and systematic analysis are used; The conclusions show the level of security of the institutions considered based on the Technical University of Machala as a reference, the inferences that argue the results are explained when demonstrating the solution of the case study.
