Abstract

The international transport of goods is done through the different means and modes of transport, companies need to send their products to their customers that is why the choice of a means of transport is vital during the logistics, commercial and customs processes. The importance of operational procedures for handling cargo and unloading executed through the different means and modes of transport lies in a good choice of a logistics operator to carry out all the activities concerning handling, mobilization, storage, distribution, loading , unloading, stowage, unloading, stacking of goods in cargo units and means of transport. These logistics operators have the resources such as: equipment, tools, machinery, equipment and others, which will allow you to execute the different operations and the correct handling of the cargo. The objective of this work is to describe the most convenient and safe handling methods that are carried out in all port operations that guarantee excellent cargo handling throughout the development of the supply chain, as well as to select the means and mode of suitable transport to be used in it. In the investigation the descriptive method was applied, since it allows us to decompose and analyze each one of the elements that arise in the subject; the materials used are articles from books and scientific journals indexed in databases on the subject.
