Abstract

This research describes the activities carried out in a support subprocess corresponding to a company, with the purpose of improving process management through the use of process maps and flowcharts. To this end, it has been proposed as a general objective to describe the Systems subprocess by studying the process map for the identification of the impact on COLORADO ACERO S.A. The present investigation used a descriptive methodology applying the methods of inductive-deductive reasoning; The study was carried out in four stages, beginning with an exploratory study in the company to identify the problem and first findings, which would allow the modeling of the process map, subsequently the activities of the Systems subprocess were identified, and as a final point it was elaborated the flowchart of the Systems subprocess and this whole thread is described in detail considering the inputs, processes, outputs, resources used, and customers. In the investigation it was recognized that the company under study executes fourteen threads distributed between strategic, operational and support processes, that the Systems subprocess influences the creation of value for the products in the first instances when the Design and Development is carried out and It also supports the rest of the processes. It has been concluded that graphic representation is useful and necessary to improve the interpretation of employees, and therefore has generated a positive impact on the productivity of the company.
