Determinación de especies forestales mediante una línea base ambiental para su conservación en el sendero el Canto del Tucán

Abstract

The forest patrimony of a certain society constitutes a fundamental resource for its development, due to the goods and services it provides. The community of Pejeyacu, specifically the Canto del Tucán trail, is a site in the canton of Chilla that is characterized by having large areas of native forest, which supports a great diversity of natural resources, fauna species and the development of certain productive economic activities. Main productive activities that arise around the commune, such as timber harvesting and the expansion of the agricultural frontier, generate a degree of vulnerability and latent risk for the conservation of this resource. That is why the general objective was to determine the forest species in the Canto del Tucán trail through the application of an environmental baseline, to provide information regarding their current status, properties and ecological importance, and through this to design chips of records on the characteristics of each of the identified species in order to disseminate this information to the inhabitants of the commune and promote the conservation of forest resources. It is worth mentioning that the development of this research was based on a deductive approach that allows linking the information collected with information at the national level about the use of forest resources, in addition to using a type of Quali-Quantitative mixed research with a descriptive, explanatory and exploratory scope that allows to collect, organize and quantify the data of the application of the baseline and thus determine the possible solutions for the design of the proposal to be implemented in the commune.
