Abstract

Before the demographic development of the population in the world and in the country, aging is not a modern phenomenon, but what makes it something new is the large number of older adults who are now part of this age group, who At the same time, they are exposed to face paradigms that stereotype their functionality in different social dimensions. Starting from this reality arises the question of research, skills and actions of the Social Worker that allow him to intervene so that the elderly or the elderly do not suffer from abuse and can overcome difficulties by fully developing their activities eliminating social self-exclusion, promoting the active participation and satisfactory aging, having as a pillar the family nucleus, which is responsible for providing well-being. Therefore, the research work aims to analyze the competences of the Social Worker in the elderly, drawing a path of action oriented to the protection and specialized attention in the different social systems, but it would be ideal to update and execute the Law of the Elder who has not taken effect in its application so that sanctions are strengthened on those who violate their rights.
