Abstract

Stress is considered a pathology that the human being, same that currently presents to increasingly increasing levels in society. Stress is considered as a reaction of the organism to negative factors, which are commonly related to overwork and inadequate work environments; causing harmful consequences in the work, social and family life of the human being. In this context, the objective of this paper has been proposed, which is to determine the factors that affect work stress in the staff of the Basic Hospital 1 BI El Oro and the role that the Social Worker plays in the identification and attention of the problem. In order to achieve the objective, we proceeded with the collection of information through scientific articles on the study variables that allowed us to approach them theoretically and expand the argument of their understanding. The final results show that among the main stress factors are: the low valuation of the work done, the high levels of pressure and the demands of the bosses towards the workers. Having as consequence the affectation of the mental health of the worker and therefore compromises the labor performance and as well as the quality in the productivity and efficiency of services that the institution provides.
