Abstract

The demand for solid waste grows in an exaggerated manner, which is causing different problems both in the health of living beings and in natural resources (soil, air and water), all this occurs because man deposits his waste in places not qualified as vacant land, water sources, etc. In most cities, the waste is not collected in its entirety, some are collected for recycling, others are incinerated and a large part are not brought to their final disposal and even many cities do not have a place of final deposit, which represents a risk for each one of the inhabitants and for the environment. With this it is sought that the residents of the rural parish Caña Quemada del Cantón Pasaje realize that recycling contributes to the strengthening of society and allows to enjoy a healthy environment as governs the Good Living plan. The purpose of this project is to search for proposals for the reuse of solid organic and inorganic waste, for which an evaluation of the place of study is made, to know how the collection, transport and final disposal of the RS is. The study consisted of the application of 124 surveys conducted to the inhabitants of the study site. In addition, a collection, weighing and analysis of the composition of solid waste in 5 households is carried out. Analyzing the results obtained, it can be determined that the per capita generation of solid waste is 0.40kg / inhabitant day.
