Plan de gestión de residuos domiciliarios para la parroquia La Iberia Cantón El Guabo, El Oro, año 2018

Abstract

In the present work, the current situation regarding the solid waste management in the study area corresponding to the La Iberia Cantón El Guabo en la provincia de El Oro was evaluated. By means of a survey made to the inhabitants of said parish, we were able to personally verify the state in which the solid waste is handled, its opinions, discomforts and concerns that the cantonal head of said parish presents. With the results obtained from the survey, we made the tabulators of percentages that indicated the opinion of the residents, their way of disposing of the waste and how much solid waste is most thrown away. From the field work that was carried out, a Per Capita generation of 0.45 Kg / hab * day was obtained. And its composition was obtained the following values: Organic Waste 75.02%, Plastic 7.86%, Toilet Paper 6.08%, Cardboard and Paper 6.82%, Glass 1.62%, Metal 0.37%, Other materials 2.22%. With these results we can propose a plan to improve the management of the RSU, since the biggest problem of the study site, is the accumulation of garbage in the streets, because the collector only passes twice a week through the site and his schedule is not fixed. Which implies that the citizens have to take out their garbage at inappropriate times and on days that do not belong to the collection. Due to these discomforts, the proposal to implement a plan to mitigate these problems has been made.
