Abstract

As the years go by, the lifestyle and quality of life of human beings has been really affected by the consumption of the planet's resources and as a consequence, the rate of solid waste has increased and the efforts for the collection of these wastes are not complete, which generates the need to look for new and better strategies to mitigate the negative impact that solid waste has on the environment. Citing a clear example of the problems mentioned above, is the collection of solid waste in Tenguel, where it has been possible to verify the poor collection process, for this reason I feel in the task of presenting a solution to this need, to improve the process we present the following URBAN SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE SOUTHERN SECTOR OF THE TENGUEL PARISH OF THE GUAYAQUIL CANTON which involves a series of activities for the correct process of generation, classification, handling and collection of solid waste, as well as creating a culture of recycling among the inhabitants of the canton and generate awareness of the seriousness of not treating this problem in time. The most important objective of this project is to present, through the practical exercise of Civil Engineering, the most viable way to reduce, recycle and reuse the greatest amount of solid waste and to attenuate its contamination of the environment.
