Resumen:
Uno de los principales retos, al que se enfrenta el sistema universitario ecuatoriano, es el diseño y puesta en marcha de una estrategia integral que permita un efectivo vínculo entre la universidad y los sectores productivos y sociales, de tal suerte de que estos últimos sean beneficiados de los logros científicos y académicos alcanzados por las Instituciones de Educación Superior. La Función sustantiva Vinculación con la Colectividad son aquellos espacios de interacción entre la institución universitaria y la sociedad. Constituye otro de los pilares fundamentales de la acción universitaria, ya que asociada a los ámbitos académico, investigativo y de gestión administrativa, genera desarrollo e impacto social.
