dc.description	This article analyzed community tourism in Latin America since its genesis, the importance of the support of the Sustainable Community Tourism Network of Latin America, the national organizations of community tourism and the main characteristics of this type of tourism in some countries of the region. Being a compre¬hensive review article bibliographic methodology was used. Community tourism in Latin America emerged in the early 70’s Taquile, Peru. The Community Tourism Network supports countries and communities through education, advocacy, research studies and community tourism framework for the creation of quality principles and ethical development of community tourism. There are fourteen Latin American and Caribbean countries associates to REDTURS and have a supportive legal framework and national networks for the development of tourism based in community.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	En este artículo se revisó la bibliografía relacionada al turismo comunitario en Latinoamérica desde su génesis, la trascendencia del apoyo de la Red de Turismo Comunitario Sostenible de América Latina, REDTURS, las organizaciones nacionales de turismo comunitario y las características principales de esta tipología turística en algunos países de la región. Al ser un artículo de revisión se empleó la metodología bibliográfica exhaustiva. El turismo comunitario en América Latina surgió en la década de los 70’s en Taquile, Perú. La Red de Turismo Comunitario apoya a los países y comunidades con educación, promoción, estudios investigativos de turismo comunitario y el marco para la creación de principios de calidad y éticos para el desarrollo del turismo comu¬nitario. Son catorce los países de América Latina y El Caribe asociados a REDTURS y que además poseen un marco legal y redes nacionales para el desarrollo del turismo comunitario.	es_ES
