Resumen:
The banana is an endogenous resource of great relevance with a significant contribution to the country's trade, economy and society, standing out as an important sector for national dynamization, since it influences the GDP, the trade balance, and generates jobs both directly and indirectly. The present work uses a documentary-bibliographic research of a non-experimental nature, under a descriptive level, where representative characteristics of the object of study were determined. The results reveal that bananas have an impact of more than 50% on agricultural GDP. Within the period studied, it was observed that the sector has had increasing and decreasing production and export trends. The year 2020 stands out as the most influential, despite difficulties in exporting and producing this fruit, it was the year where this sector stood out the most, having an impact of 67% on the agricultural GDP and 5.5% on the national GDP, contributing with more than 45,000 jobs, being a significant contribution since the economy was in recession.

El banano es un recurso endógeno de gran relevancia con un significativo aporte dentro del comercio, la economía y sociedad del país, destacándose como un importante sector para la dinamización nacional, pues, influye en el PIB, en la balanza comercial, y genera empleos tanto de forma directa como indirecta. El presente trabajo emplea una
investigación documental-bibliográfica de carácter no experimental, bajo un nivel descriptivo, donde se determinaron características representativas del objeto de estudio. Los resultados revelan que el banano incide en más del 50% sobre el PIB agrícola, dentro del periodo estudiado se observó que el sector ha tenido tendencias crecientes y decrecientes de producción y exportación. El año 2020 enfatiza como el más influyente, a pesar de dificultades para exportar y producir esta fruta, fue el año donde este sector más sobresalió, teniendo una incidencia del 67% en el PIB agrícola y 5,5% en el PIB nacional, contribuyendo con más de 45 000 plazas de trabajo, siendo un aporte significativo ya que la economía estaba en recesión.
