Abstract

The present project aims to determine the construction process of a slope dam commonly known as a shelter work, by collecting information in scientific articles, magazines, books, among others. A slope dike is carried out in order to provide protection against the strong waves that occur in the sea and through this it is thought that the action produced by the waves with the dike reduces its force or thrust and thus avoiding causing damage to an entire port and its inhabitants. Obtain adequate knowledge about the use, benefits and disadvantages of the embankment dam, I consider it important since at any time in our career as civil engineers we have to come across these sheltering works and if we do not have sufficient knowledge and when carrying Carrying out this work will be a challenge for us.
