Resumen:
The present work is based on the analysis and design of a roundabout at the intersection of Via Buenavista and Via Paccha. The road intersection point currently presents a problem with the population growth of the canton Pasaje, Santa Rosa and the upper part of the province of El Oro. According to an inductive analysis of the residents of the site, the insecurity of the pedestrian was verified as there were no protective islands, Splitting islands, reflective signage, lighting and lack of police protection becomes a problem. As an alternative solution, it has been proposed the design of a 2-lane roundabout in two directions with splitter islands, turn protection islands, based on the Nevi-12 design standard according to the AASHTO.

El punto de intersección vial actualmente presenta una problemática con el crecimiento poblacional del cantón Pasaje, Santa Rosa y parte alta de la provincia de El Oro. Según un análisis inductivo a los moradores del sitio se constató la inseguridad del peatón al no existir Isletas protectoras, Isletas partidoras, señalización reflectiva, iluminación y falta de resguardo policial se convierte en una problemática. Como alternativa de solución se ha propuesto el diseño de una rotonda de 2 carriles en doble dirección con Isletas partidoras, Isletas protectoras de giro, en base a la norma de diseño Nevi-12 Según la AASHTO.
