Resumen:
La identificación de la fauna entomológica es una labor de mucha res-ponsabilidad y dedicación, ya que trabajos como este son de mucha ayuda para los productores de arroz en la zona de Arenillas; lo cual les sirve para establecer parámetros técnicos de posibles control de las plagas mas significativas y de mayor importancia económica para cul-tivo y cuales son los insectos benéficos que existen en el sector. Los objetivos planteados fueron: 1. Identificar las plagas de mayor impor-tancia en el cultivo; 2. Determinar los insectos benéficos que se en-cuentran regulando las plagas del cultivo; 3. Establecer la clasificación taxonómica de los especimenes recolectados en el campo. Para colec-tar los especimenes se realizo recorridos por los cultivos establecidos de arroz, en la parroquia la Cuca de la provincia de El Oro; en los que se muestrearon sembrios que presentaban deterioro en el follaje y panícula por la presencia de ataques de plagas, los mismos que se colocaron en fundas o frascos de vidrio para ser trasladados al laboratorio y ser examinados. Todos los objetivos fueros cumplidos en su cabalidad, se llego a identificar y reconocer cada uno de los insectos plagas que ocasionan un daño muy perjudicial y cuales son los insectos predatores que los controla.
