dc.description | Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the loss of renal function in a progressive and irreversible way; It is currently one of the most prevalent chronic non-transmissible degenerative diseases worldwide; also affecting the economy of the health system. In the early stages of the disease, treatment is conservative, including: lifestyle modifications and drugs intended to stop or prevent progression of the disease to more advanced stages and/or renal replacement therapy. Objective: To determine the most important aspects regarding conservative treatment in patients with chronic renal failure. The articles used were obtained from data platforms suchas: PubMed, Google Scholar, Medscape and ScienceDirect; In the period from 2011 to 2016; including: protocols of clinical practice, clinical practice guidelines, consensus documents, systematic reviews and analytical studies. Results: We selected 26 articles that complied with the objectives outlined and with the quality standards; on which the conservative treatment in the different stages of the CKD was investigated. Conclusions: Once CRD is diagnosed, treatment should be precocious, multidisciplinary and individualized; thus achieving the slowing progression and improving the quality of life of patients. The most prevalent diseases that cause CKD are arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus, so that their proper management and strict control become a fundamental pillar to avoid progression to advanced stages of CKD; Without neglecting other acute complications. | es_ES |
| es_ES |
