Descripción : Coronary angiography is a technique of percutaneous access, which allows defining the nature and location of the coronary lesion, is currently very useful to establish the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, but in turn this procedure involves complications in the Patients that are performed, with an incidence that oscillates between 1.7-3% of the interventions. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: This study aims to review current concepts on the complications of coronary angiography in patients with acute myocardial infarction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The research was conducted in scientific articles on the platforms: Scielo, PubMed, Google Scholar, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Redalyc, from December 09, 2016 to January 10, 2017; Finding descriptive retrospective studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyzes. RESULTS: During the course of this literature review the selection of 10 articles is done. They are published in different Latin American and European countries, where they demonstrate the different complications of coronary angiography with an incidence of 1.7-3%, hence the importance of studying them in order to prevent them. CONCLUSION: In the articles reviewed most agree that there are complications when performing a coronary angiography, but its incidence is low, compared to the benefit it offers, therefore, we can not suggest not performing this technique, but if we recommend evaluations Integral of the patient who will undergo this process, with the purpose of reducing these effects.
