| Descripción : | The Canine Distemper is an infectious disease that affects dogs domestic and wild, and certain species of mammals, is very common in our environment so it is necessary to know its pathogenesis to understand the barriers of Defense involved in the fight against the virus. The virus enters by air using aerosols, initially infecting cells, affects different tissues and organs, even to cause serious and fatal CNS lesions such as the poliencefalitis and the leukoencephalitis. The humoral and cellular immune responses in the recovery of the animal are key, as well as age, viral strain and infectious dose. It is unknown how virus interferes with the normal functioning of dendritic cells as there are also mechanisms of knowledge, and which alter the immunological Synapse. The VDC (Canine Distemper Virus) damages since the beginning of the infection the innate and adaptive immunities for its high linfotropismo, being the key to prevent distemper infection immunization. As it is known there is a definitive cure for canine distemper but if there are support or maintenance treatments to relieve the symptoms of animals affected in order to help relieve their discomfort, but there is also a treatment based on the Interferon recombinant feline which is giving good results in the treated animals. |
| Resumen : | El Distemper Canino es una enfermedad infecciosa que afecta a cánidos domésticos y salvajes, y ciertas especies de mamíferos, es muy común en nuestro medio por lo que es necesario conocer su patogenia para entender las barreras de defensa que intervienen en la lucha contra el virus. El virus ingresa por vía aérea por medio de aerosoles, infectando inicialmente los linfocitos, afecta a diferentes tejidos y órganos, llegando incluso a ocasionar lesiones del SNC graves y mortales tales como la leucoencefalitis y la poliencefalitis. Las respuestas inmunes humoral y celular en la recuperación del animal son clave, así como la edad, cepa viral y dosis infectiva. Se desconoce como el virus interfiere en el normal funcionamiento de las células dendríticas ya que además existen mecanismos de los que no se tiene conocimiento y que alteran la sinapsis inmunológica. El VDC (Virus del Distemper Canino) daña desde el inicio de la infección las inmunidades innatas y adaptativa por su elevado linfotropismo, siendo la clave para evitar la infección de distemper la inmunización. Como es conocido no existe una cura definitiva para el distemper canino pero si existen tratamientos de soporte o de mantenimiento para aliviar los síntomas de los animales afectados con el fin de ayudar a aliviar su malestar, pero además existe un tratamiento a base del Interferón recombinante felino el mismo que está dando buenos resultados en los animales tratados. |
