Abstract

The family in the educational context plays a fundamental role in the educational process of those represented, since it establishes a family-school link that allows for the accompaniment of the various situations of school formation, and that somehow contributes significantly to said development, in Around this, there are various regulations established by law, as well as those considered in the Institutional Educational Project, where some conditions are considered regarding what parents must comply with in the framework of the involvement and accompaniment of the academic process of their representatives. However, from the above, it is necessary to mention that despite all this regulatory-legal environment, parents do not assume the role they must play responsibly, which brings with it countless problems that are evident in school performance, and they make it difficult for the teacher to achieve the educational purposes and objectives, thus constituting a double burden of responsibility for the teachers who have the responsibility of educating the students and thus also the parents. In this research based on the role of the family and its incidence in the learning process of the 4th year students of EGB of the millennium educational unit "Lcda. Olga Campoverde" period 2022-2023, it was possible through the implementation of research instruments such as survey and interview, to demonstrate the lack of family accompaniment towards the academic process of those represented, which, as has already been stated, constitutes a problem important for the educational institution, which sees in this a real weakness and therefore a challenge to face for the educational system in general. In this way, the direction of this research is directed towards the contribution that can be given to somehow improve this problem by proposing a set of strategies that allow the involvement of the parent in the educational system, for which the institution education in general and teachers in particular, will apply these alternatives to achieve the objective of relating school - family, constituting a substantial contribution to improve educational quality. Regarding methodology, the type of research is qualitative-quantitative supported by the statistical method, for this, the survey technique directed to parents or representatives of students considered for the present study was applied, this work was also supported by the teacher participation through an interview, in the same way qualitative techniques were used, such as classroom observation, to demonstrate directly and objectively, some characteristics or indicators that allowed to demonstrate aspects that support the existence of this problem. The various moments of information collection were important to achieve a triangulation of information obtained, in order to justify the proposal that consists of strategies for the teacher to bring the parents closer to the educational institution. It is considered, then, that this process of family involvement in the school is important based on the fundamental aspects that must be considered for the educational process to improve, through the approach and responsibility that the family must comply with in order to go improving educational actions in general.
