Resumen : Chest trauma is currently one of the main causes of death, in addition to representing a large percentage of morbidity in those patients in whom there are sequelae due to the different chest injuries, which are considered to be prioritized early since they represent an immediate danger. for the life of the individual. Therefore, the identification and description of chest wall injuries in trauma are essential and of great importance for their therapeutic approach. OBJECTIVE: to describe the signs and other radiological and tomographic findings found in chest trauma, through a bibliographic review in scientific articles on evidence-based medicine, in order to identify what type of traumatic chest injury each imaging sign corresponds to. METHODOLOGY: non-experimental descriptive study, scientific information published in the last five years was collected from different bibliographic sources such as: Scielo, PubMed, Cochrane, academic Google. CONCLUSION: the most frequent signs are three: deep sulcus, where the air accumulated in the subpulmonary recess causes a deep costophrenic angle, double diaphragm, where this same air causes two different diaphragmatic interfaces to be observed, and finally the fat pad. floating heart, in which the air outlines the mediastinum which creates a sharper border and in turn lobulated by the presence of fat at this level, each of these suggests the presence of pneumothorax.
