Resumen : The design of culverts is the sizing of the structure, the selection of the material and the type of section of the element based on economy and functionality, whose length-slope ratio allows evacuating the flow (water) for which it has been designed and using the available resources manage to optimize its operation, preventing its remnants from affecting the functionality of the structure. The general objective consists of the evaluation of the geometric elements of a box-type culvert located at coordinates N9641345 E626694 belonging to the Tillales - Palestina road in the province of El Oro, by leveling the longitudinal and transversal profiles of the channel with the in order to identify its levels that allow redesigning the existing sewer to assess whether its characteristics meet the parameters established by the regulations for its operation. The methodology applied for the development of this work is bibliographical and field research that is developed through visits to the project site, where leveling of both the land specified for the study is carried out, this is in order to be able to take the data necessary to carry out the calculations that allow modeling the culvert, this process is executed with engineering design software that is also capable of documenting the calculations made in the process. As a result, the sketch of a sewer will be obtained, which will be subject to evaluation of functionality, usefulness, efficiency, etc., based on parameters established in legislation.
