Resumen : Psychoanalysis is one of the approaches that is responsible for directly studying the human psyche and how the first years of the infant's life are fundamental for the formation of the personality structure. Hysteria is one of the most studied within this approach, since it is characterized by the presence of symptoms that are physically somatized, with a certain level of drama and exaggeration according to the patients' narrative. Several pioneers refer that hysteria arises in the first experiences that the human being has with the father figure in relation to the first years of life, this hysteria has no effect if a pharmacological treatment is used, for which it is suggested that psychoanalytic treatment is implemented, to improve the quality of life of the patient and those around him, because although it is true, this affects the different areas in which the human being is found and develops. The present investigation aims to identify the etiology of the somatization of the hysterical personality from the psychoanalytic approach, through a bibliographic method that allows gathering scientific and argumentative information on the subject, in this way it can be concluded that the etiology of the somatization of the hysterical personality, From the psychoanalytic approach, it originates in childhood, with the experience of childhood traumas, which are stored unconsciously and are expressed through the body, in situations of stress both in adolescence and adulthood.
