Resumen : Throughout history, humanity has seen the need to develop roads that unite peoples in order to transport their products, improving people's quality of life, but over time it was necessary to shorten their roads which they presented geographical deformations caused by rivers or streams that in their winter stage did not allow the passage in these points making them impassable, therefore the need arose to incur to improvised wooden platforms thus taking their first steps in structural engineering, which more forward it would become bridge designs. There are different types of bridges such as, Metallic, Reinforced Concrete, Pre-Stressed and Mixed, capable of withstanding the design loads of the bridge element, together with elements capable of transferring these loads solicitations to the ground. The Stirrups are the substructural part on both sides of a bridge that is responsible for transmitting the live, dead, overload, earthquake and wind loads generated in the super structure towards the ground as well as containing the lateral loads generated by the ground pressure. The purpose of this document is to evaluate the design of bending steel corresponding to the greatest moment generated on the screen of a cantilever stirrup. Keywords Bridge, stirrup, sub structure, super structure, loads.
