| Descripción : | En nuestra provincia, como en el mundo entero, la discriminación contra la mujer sigue estando presente. En la esfera pública, la mujer sigue ocupando, en su mayoría, cargos supeditados al hombre, limitándose a realizar funciones o a ocupar cargos de menor jerarquía. Aunque estos hechos han ido cambiado a lo largo de la historia, gracias a protestas sociales a favor la igualdad de género, aún se siguen viendo casos de discriminación y violencia de género, la mujer sigue siendo vista como el sexo débil, como símbolo de belleza o relacionadas a temas del hogar, espectáculo, culinarios o sociales. En cuanto a los medios de comunicación, como mayores influyentes de la formación de la opinión pública, a lo largo del tiempo, hemos visto cómo las mujeres han sido violentadas, en cuanto a la expresión de los titulares y al contenido de sus notas, sobretodo en aquellas sensacionalistas, presentando un tipo de mujer estereotipada. La forma de pensar de los ciudadanos ha ido cambiando y la percepción con respecto al papel de la mujer en la sociedad también ha ido cambiando, pero esto no se ha evidenciado en las notas periodísticas informativas, por ello el interés de realizar esta investigación. En el presente trabajo, se trató de analizar de manera cualitativa, cuantitativa y bibliográfica, las representaciones de violencia de género y discriminación, mediante el análisis de la participación de la mujer en las noticias en los periódicos Correo, Opinión y El Nacional, ya que son los 3 diarios de mayor circulación en Machala y la provincia de El Oro, a través de una ficha de observación, dividida en 5 ítems. El primero enfocado en la participación de la mujer en las notas, como protagonista, papel secundario, complemento o protagonismo compartido, o cuando no aparece; los demás enfocados en la sección en donde se habla de la mujer, si la mujer aparece dentro la esfera pública o privada, qué tipo de estereotipo se le atribuye dentro de la nota, y si su participación es positiva o negativa. Así mismo se realizó entrevistas a profundidad a los jefes de redacción de los tres diarios, para corroborar el análisis de contenido. Los resultados del análisis, arrojaron porcentajes por debajo de la mitad, en cuanto a la participación de las mujeres en las notas informativas, pero de este bajo porcentaje, la mujer aparece más como complemento en las noticias y es tomada en cuenta principalmente en las secciones de Ciudad, Cantonal y Actualidad. En cuanto a esfera pública y privada, las diferencias son bastante equitativas, en Diario El Nacional y Correo la mujer aparece más en lo público, mientras que en Opinión los porcentajes son 50% y 50%, este realce de la mujer en el sector público se debe, principalmente, a que la mujer tuvo mayor participación en la noticias políticas referentes a la elección de la vicepresidenta de la República, cuya terna en el 2017 correspondía solo a representantes mujeres. Dentro de los estereotipos que se le atribuyen a la mujer en las noticias, el mayor porcentaje se centra en las relaciones e interacciones sociales, también en las característica de víctima y en tercer lugar es tomada en cuenta, en el caso de Diario Correo y El Nacional por sus capacidades intelectuales y Opinión la resaltan más por su cuerpo. En cuanto a la valoración de su participación, los resultados arrojaron, que es positiva. De las entrevistas realizadas, concluimos que en la actualidad, a la mujer se le está tratando de dar más participación y protagonismo en las notas, sin embargo ellos consideran que, la mujer como tal, debe ser quien genere y gane más terreno en la esfera pública, para poder sobresalir e igualar al hombre, en cuestión de espacio y protagonismo, y que ellos, como medio de comunicación, se cuidan siempre de no generar estereotipos y no revictimizar más a la mujer agredida. |
| Resumen : | In our province, as in the whole world, discrimination against women is still present.In the public sphere, women continue to occupy, for the most part, positions subject to man, limiting themselves to performing functions or occupying lower positions. Although these facts have been changed throughout history, thanks to social protests in favor of gender equality, there are still cases of discrimination and gender violence, women are still seen as the weaker sex, as a symbol of beauty or related to home, show, culinary or social issues. In the present work, it was tried to analyze in a qualitative, quantitative and bibliographical way, the representations of gender violence and discrimination, through the analysis of the participation of women in the news in the newspapers Correo, Opinión and El Nacional, since These are the three newspapers with the largest circulation in Machala and the province of El Oro, through an observation sheet, divided into 5 items. The first one focused on the participation of women in the notes, as a protagonist, secondary role, complement or shared protagonism, or when it does not appear; the others focused on the section where the woman is talked about, if the woman appears within the public or private sphere, what type of stereotype is attributed to her within the note, and whether her participation is positive or negative. Likewise, in-depth interviews were conducted with the editors of the three newspapers, to corroborate the content analysis. The results of the analysis, showed percentages below half, in terms of the participation of women in the information notes, but of this low percentage, women appear more as a complement in the news and is taken into account mainly in the sections of City, Cantonal and Current. In terms of public and private sphere, the differences are quite fair, in El Nacional and Correo newspaper the woman appears more in the public, while in Opinion the percentages are 50% and 50%, this enhancement of women in the public sector This is mainly due to the fact that women had a greater participation in the political news regarding the election of the Vice President of the Republic, whose list in 2017 corresponded only to female representatives. Within the stereotypes that are attributed to women in the news, the largest percentage focuses on social relationships and interactions, also on the characteristics of victims and thirdly is taken into account, in the case of Diario Correo and El National for its intellectual abilities and Opinion highlight it more for its body. Regarding the valuation of their participation, the results showed that it is positive. From the interviews conducted, we conclude that at present, women are being tried to give more participation and prominence in the notes, however they consider that, the woman as such, should be the one who generates and earns more land in the sphere public, in order to stand out and equalize men, in terms of space and prominence, and that they, as a means of communication, always take care not to generate stereotypes and revictimize the aggrieved woman more. |
