dc.descriptionIntroducción: La TB a nivel mundial, ocupa el noveno lugar de las principales causas de mortalidad y el primero por enfermedades infecciosas, superando al VIH/SIDA En Ecuador, según el INEC en el 2014, por TBEP se registraron 168 egresos hospitalarios y 2 fallecidos. El Ministerio de Salud Pública en el 2016, reportó por morbilidad de TBEP 818 casos, de ellos 29 correspondían a la Provincia de El Oro, y 85 fallecieron en ese mismo año. Presentación del caso: Paciente de 18 años de edad de ocupación estudiante y jornalero que acude al Centro de Salud Teniente Hugo Ortiz, ubicado en la ciudad de Santa Rosa el 09/05/2018 por cervicalgia y presencia de ganglios inflamados en ambos lados del cuello, en la exploración física se evidencia adenomegalia cervical dolorosa a la palpación profunda. Con antecedentes patológicos familiares: padre con diabetes mellitus, madre con hipertensión arterial, tía por parte de madre con VIH, hermana con problemas de drogadicción y alcoholismo. Desde el 25 de abril inició su tratamiento de TB, y a partir de esa fecha hasta el 12 de octubre se ha realizado cinco baciloscopias, todas con resultado negativo (-). La TB fue descrita por primera vez en la literatura griega aproximadamente 460 años AC. Hipócrates, la consideró como la enfermedad infecciosa predominante de su era, por otra parte, hay evidencia que, en partes de la columna vertebral de las momias de Egipto se encontraron signos sugestivos de lesiones por TB (23). La afección a los ganglios linfáticos, también se denomina “escrófula”, curiosamente se la relacionó con el reino, al catalogarla como “la maldición del rey”, en vista de que se creía de que el individuo infectado para curarse debía ser tocado por el rey de aquella época Objetivo General: Analizar el caso de un paciente con diagnóstico de Linfadenitis tuberculosa cervical en el Centro de Salud Teniente Hugo Ortiz, mediante la revisión de la historia clínica y la búsqueda bibliográfica para promover la calidad de atención de enfermería en esta patología. Método: los datos fueron obtenido de la historia clínica del paciente y mediante una entrevista con él. Además, se hizo una búsqueda bibliográfica para fundamentar con evidencia científica los resultados encontrados, en las bases de datos como PubMed, Scielo, Redalyc, Elsevier, etc.es_ES
