Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegeneration that affects approximately 1 to 2% of the world population over 60 years of age, characterized by the loss of neurons of the substantia nigra, which produces motor symptoms and non-motor symptoms, which determines a deterioration in the quality of life of the patient, an overload for relatives and caregivers, generating a great psychosocial impact, more accentuated in countries where health policies and social policies are lacking for this type of patients. Given this problem, it is necessary to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of these families from a socio-cultural and intersectoral approach. OBJECTIVE: To characterize patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease from a social, family and intercultural approach that allows to provide criteria to improve their quality of life. METHOD: A systematic bibliographical review is carried out based on scientific articles in medical evidence sources such as Google Scholar, Cochrane, Pubmed, Science Direct. RESULTS: It is determined how motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease affect the patient's social, family, cultural and emotional life; besides contributing in how to improve the quality of life of these from the perspective of higher education in their community bonding. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's need community bonding programs that include intersectoral participation in this way, achieving a better quality of life for them and their social environment.es_ES
