Descripción : The present research aims at the recognition of the laterality and directionality in children of one year, for the initiation of the literacy, and to be able to determine the differences in the development of left and right in schoolchildren. Hence hemispheric dominance can be intense in different sensory organs; Hand, foot, eye, ear. The child at school age must have reached his laterality in terms of his sensory organs, laterality and directionality is paramount in the educational process in the learning of literacy. The child, not having the mastery of his lateralization, is not aware of his left and right side and cannot project his laterality to the outside, The investigative methodology is the hypothetical deductive method and as a strategy in the development of the work is used as a method of bibliographic research techniques, the main objective is framed in developing if the recognition of laterality and directionality in the initiation of the lectoescritura are adequate for teaching, applying direct observation. The result of this research is concluded from valuing the play activities, because it allows the recognition of their lateralization and directionality of our students. The play activities is a way of access to the dominance of laterality of children. The expressive richness it demonstrates, the amount of materials it manipulates, the seriousness or plasticity in its acts are indicators of the child's way of being and functioning.
