| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo de investigación se realizo desde mediados del mes de Julio hasta la primera semana del mes de septiembre del 2005, en la ciudad de Machala en los domicilios de sus respectivos dueños de los animales afectados por la sarna demodècica y sarcòptica. Para la conformación de los grupos no se consideró el grado de infestaciòn, raza, edad, sexo ni localización de las lesiones de la sarna de los animales. Los objetivos planteados para esta investigación son: Identificar los tipos de sarna en los perros. Determinar la eficacia de la Doramectina y Amitraz en el tratamiento de la sarna canina. Se determino la evaluación de las lesiones en 8 caninos, uno de raza bóxer y siete de raza mestiza, a los cuales mediante el examen de laboratorio se les diagnosticó sarna (demodècica, y sarcòptica). Para el efecto a los animales del grupo I (sarna sarcòptica) y a los animales del grupo II (sarna demodècica) se les administró Doramectina por vía intramuscular en dosis de 200 ug/kg de peso vivo (0.02 ml/kg). En seis aplicaciones con intervalo de 8 días entre c/u. Mientras que a los animales del grupo III (sarna sarcòptica) y del grupo IV (sarna demodècica) se les aplicó Amitraz en solución acuosa 1 ml/L de agua en baños enérgicos con una esponja durante seis semanas con intervalo de 8 días entre c/aplicación. El animal # 2 del grupo II sometido a la aplicación de la Doramectina no brindo un resultado satisfactorio y posiblemente se debió a que el dueño de la mascota no le dio el cuidado y control necesario pese a las recomendaciones dadas por el investigador.
